The Job Shadow Program is a low-pressure, one-day educational experience for students at the University of Arizona to gain exposure to a professional workplace or industry, explore potential careers and make new connections.
Winter 2026-2027 Shadows will take place between Monday, December 21st and Friday, January 29th.

Shadows are available with employers in Arizona and across the United States during winter, spring and summer breaks.

Job Shadow 2026 Winter Session – Important Dates
Student Applications Open: Monday, October 12th
Student Applications Close: Sunday, November 22nd
Students Notified: Between Tuesday, December 1st and Friday, December 4th
Student / Host Connections: Week of December 14th
Session Dates: Monday, December 21st – Friday, January 29th
Students with little or no professional experience are encouraged are to participate. You will need a current resume and a cover letter explaining why you’re why you’re applying and what you hope to gain from the experience.
How to Search for Jobs Shadows on Handshake
- In Handshake, click on “Jobs”
- Click on “Filters” and scroll down to the bottom of the page and select “Labeled by your School”
- Type in the label “UA Job Shadow Program“
- When you’re ready, click “Apply”*
You may apply for a maximum of five shadows.
*Separate cover letter and resume for each application required.
