What is the Law & Justice career cluster?

Spanning numerous settings and specializations, the Law & Justice cluster boasts broad opportunities to serve the public interest, ensure fundamental rights, and maintain social order. These careers exist within private firms, government agencies, think tanks, police forces, the military, and throughout the judiciary.

Want to work in law? Becoming an attorney first requires a law degree, but paves the way for a plethora of professional pathways. Still, plenty of legal careers like policy analyst, interest group lobbyist, and campaign consultant may benefit from but don’t necessitate law school.

Law enforcement careers range from community squads to regional police forces and national agencies like the FBI, DEA, and Secret Service. The criminal justice system also features non-enforcement roles in forensics, investigation, counseling, and beyond.

The armed forces and related agencies comprise the Defense portion of Law & Justice. Most defense careers begin by enlisting in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, National Guard or Coast Guard, but many options exist for civilians as well, within intelligence, research, medicine, aid, engineering, and technology.
