I’m gonna help walk you through how to turn on search alerts on Handshake so this is super helpful when you want to be the first to know about a job that you’re interested in or position. alright so the first thing you wanna do is go to this web page check here so this is gonna go to Arizona dot join handshake com so that’ll take you here and then once you type in your net ID and password you should be able to log in so once you logged in you should be taken to this home page and then from here you want to click on jobs. Cool. The next thing you want to do is start searching by using any combination of keywords or filters until you find the search results that produce positions or roles that you’re interested in looking for. Okay so for me I am a Business Administration minor and I’m interested in marketing or business management so I’ll type in business management into the search bar. Cool. So once I do that I’m gonna click search and you get a whopping 1.1 K jobs found that’s a lot of jobs that I cannot search through all those. So to narrow that down even farther I am going to click on all filters. And so for me I’m a junior so I need to get a summer internship before I graduate so I am gonna click on internships but I’m also a college student and I still need to pay bills and you know have fun for spring break so I’m gonna click on paid roles only. Cool. And then I’ll show results and you can see that narrows it down by a ton to 91 jobs found. So that’s much more manageable but if that’s too much for you you can even that you can even go more with locations and other filters but for now, for our sake, we’ll just keep it as is. so once you have all your search terms and filters set you want to click on save your search. and then there you go and new job alert was created and now from there you want to click on, edit your notifications. so that’s gonna take you to this screen and you can change the title of what you want so you when you get notified and you can you either be notified between email, on the app of Handshake, or just push notifications on your phone. and you can choose between daily or weekly so it’s really up to you on how you want to receive your notifications. you’re not always getting spammed all by all three or just all the time, so it’s really up to you and how dedicated you are to searching for a job. Once you do that you just go and click Save and that is everything that you need to save your search alerts. and so this is really awesome so if you’re sitting at
home bored or watching Netflix you don’t have to stop what you’re doing to look for jobs, the jobs will find you or come to you. and if your parents ask you why aren’t you looking for a job right now you can say you already did the search and you’re chilling. so there you go you’re like, boom!
