C.A.T.S. Academics provides customized academic support services for student-athletes. Our support staff includes Desk Attendants, Tutors, and Assistant Learning Specialists. Desk Attendants greet students and visitors and assist with scheduling and managing appointments as well as handle communication between students, student-workers, and staff. Tutors provide individual or small group, course-specific support to students. Assistant Learning Specialists support students primarily through skill-building and holistic course content with a focus on time management, organization, and intensive learning support. Assistant Learning Specialists work closely with full-time Learning Specialists and support students in an individual, small group or study hall environment.

Expected Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and/or group support to a diverse group of student-athletes to assist in course material.
- Encourage independent learning by building self-confidence in student-athletes.
- Learn and manage multiple scheduling and communication platforms (Retain, Microsoft Teams, UAccess)
- Maintain appointment schedule.
- Maintain a high level of integrity.
- Attend all training workshops and scheduled staff meetings.
- Have knowledge of and adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the support staff manual.
- Work cooperatively with C.A.T.S. Academics professional & support staff.
- Handle additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must not be involved in sports wagering nor will participate in any in the future.
- Must not be in communication with any current UA Student Athletes nor will be in the future.
- Must notify a supervisor if hired as a TA with grading responsibilities.
- Must complete compliance training once a semester.
- Must be enrolled as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student at The University of Arizona.
- Must commit to two semesters of employment with C.A.T.S. Academics.
- Must have at least eight hours of availability per week.
- Must be available to work one evening, 5-8pm, or one Sunday, 12-3pm.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Must have received an “A” in potential content tutoring subject(s), or have an equivalent grade in a comparable or higher level course
- Previous experience as a tutor preferred, but not required
- This position does require the ability to work on campus and may require the ability to work remotely.
