My Nutty Interview Experience

I recently had an interview for a unique position that not many new college graduates anticipate starting after graduation. I found the opportunity right here on campus.
Scrolling through Wildcat JobLink one day, searching for a full- time opportunity that I could start upon graduation in May, I came across a nutty job position that cracked me up. The position was to drive the Planters Peanuts NUTmobile across the country for an entire year!
Before I could say "That's Nuts!", I thought, "Why Nut?"
I read the description, which included a lot of fun questions, some nut puns, and requirements that I thought I fit the shell for perfectly! Ultimately, I concluded “Why not at least apply and consider it?" I am so glad I did! I submitted an application and went to an information session on campus.
At the information session, I got to meet the manager of the NUTmobile and three of the Peanutters (that is their official title), who were currently traveling the West Coast. The information session was a great opportunity to learn more about the position and ask any questions I had. But the best part of the information session was at the very end when I got to see the NUTmobile with my own eyes and was given a tour of the inside!
The following day, I interviewed for the position at Career Services. After the first interview, I had to wait a couple of weeks to hear back, but I was lucky enough to be selected for the second round of interviews, which was in Chicago. I took a mini-vacation before Spring Break and headed to the Windy City, where I got to meet other interviewees, tried some deep-dish pizza, and interviewed at the Kraft Heinz Headquarters.
The interview process was an amazing experience that I am so grateful I got the chance to do. I will defin-NUT-ly always remember it! It’s not every day you get to interview to be a national mascot and visit the company that makes all your favorite food. And that's NUTS in the best possible way!
