Build the Skill: Leadership
Program Overview
Would it surprise you to know that empathy is considered an important leadership quality? Empathy is shown through actions, such as encouraging others, listening, leading from the middle and showing a genuine interest. What’s more, it also can be developed!
Build the Skill: Leadership will help you identify your own leadership style and strengths, how to apply them in your real life and help you develop other important leadership qualities. Work on your leadership skills now so you feel confident applying for that next goal, like an executive position in your club, that summer internship you’re looking forward to, or that scholarship for next year.
"I learned there are many different parts of being a leader and they all take time to master."
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate your personal leadership style in a group setting using the principles of Emotionally Intelligent Leadership
- Identify strengths and growth areas as they relate to Emotionally Intelligent Leadership
- Practice empathizing with others from various backgrounds/perspectives
- Analyze group dynamics and organizational culture
- Reflect on your growth as a leader and articulate your leadership style in verbal and written formats
