This team investigates critical economic and environmental challenges facing communities worldwide, with a particular focus on measuring and improving climate adaptation among small-scale producers (SSPs) in developing regions. Our research addresses pressing global issues including poverty, food insecurity, and economic inequality in the context of accelerating climate change.
The team employs a capabilities approach to assess climate adaptation and resilience at multiple levels – from individual farmers to local institutions and broader landscapes. This innovative framework helps evaluate how agricultural communities adapt to environmental shifts, measuring their capacity to respond to climate challenges while maintaining food security and economic stability. Our work directly contributes to multiple Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in understanding and addressing poverty (SDG1), hunger (SDG2), and inequality (SDG3) through the lens of climate resilience.
