About the Role
Startup Wildcats is seeking two highly motivated student assistants to join us for the 2025-2026 academic year. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in program planning, event management, professional communications, and partnership building.
The Student Assistants will work closely with Startup Wildcats leadership to help plan and execute high-impact events that support student innovation and entrepreneurship at the University of Arizona. This is a high-expectation, high-opportunity role for students passionate about leadership, program design and development, event operations, team coordination, and community building.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and coordinate events in collaboration with Startup Wildcats staff
- Recruit and organize staff and volunteers to implement events
- Manage event logistics and direct volunteers and staff during events
- Gather and analyze feedback post-event; communicate insights with the team
- Communicate with guests, speakers, and internal team members to ensure clear expectations and smooth execution
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure timely event promotion through social media, campus calendars, and campus partners
- Attend regular team meetings and provide event planning updates
- Other duties as assigned based on the evolving needs of Startup Wildcats and student employee interests

Preferred (But Not Required) Qualifications
- Prior experience working and/or planning events
- Leadership experience
- Ability to delegate tasks and manage peers
- Knowledge of how to operate event technology such as screen projection, sound, and microphones
- Experience with teaching, hosting programs, or speaking in front of a crowd
- Familiarity with Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Express
