Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) is looking for student workers for our Parking Event Monitor positions in our Special Events Department. As a Parking Event Monitor, you will assist with managing traffic and parking at all campus events, including athletic events and Centennial Hall.

It is expected that students could potentially work 250 event hours during the academic year.

This job is flexible with scheduling, but is not a normal 25 hour per week job.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 18 years old or older
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills

Duties include:

  • Facilitate traffic flow and manage parking accommodations for Special Events.
  • Set up assigned intersection, parking lot or garage at the beginning of your shift or as directed by your supervisor.
  • Control the use of parking lots, street parking, and garage parking within the assigned position.
  • Assist with the need of special groups or individual parkers that have not made prior arrangements and convey this requirement to your supervisor.
  • Collect established parking fees from customers and issue parking passes if assigned to a fee lot or garage.
  • Assist with mall gate openings.
  • You may also act as a Fee Collector and handle money and vend tickets.
  • Other specific duties and responsibilities as assigned.
