The Ardehali lab in the Sarver Heart Center is looking to hire individuals with expertise in molecular and cellular biology. This position is a great opportunity for candidates interested in medical school and academic research and student researchers are encouraged to apply.
Our lab works on the role of metabolic processes and iron in various cellular functions. We study these processes in cardiac, immune, endothelial and neuronal cells. Lab members are required to have a solid knowledge and understanding of molecular biology and be able to conduct their experiments in an independent manner.
New lab members will be trained, but they are expected to become independent within a few months. They will need to perform in vitro, in vivo and mouse studies and work closely with other lab members. The lab performs very deep mechanistic studies, so every lab member is required to have a thorough and deep understanding of their project and plans for moving it to the finish line. Updates on their progress and plans for the following day can be shared and discussed with the PI and other lab members. The lab is extremely supportive of its members and those who perform well will be supported by the PI.
