UA Campus Store

Title: Student Lead Supervisor: Enrique Ramirez

Dept: Souvenirs Hourly Rate: $16.00

Location: Various Group: Student B

SUMMARY:

The Souvenirs Student Lead position involves support and assistance to supervisors and team staff at home sporting events including Football, Basketball, Softball, and Baseball games. Other sporting events may be considered. It is the responsibility of Student Leads to directly communicate with supervisors to prepare and effectively sell the merchandise and ensure safety and compliance of team members during all events. The duties of this position include customer service, sales, stocking, special events, technology support, weekly meetings with supervisors, training of new employees, and cross training of current employees. Hours worked vary per week.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Campus Store employee – 1-year proven experience in sales, customer service, and merchandising
  • Must have open availability on Saturday and Sunday
  • Available to work a minimum of 15 to 25 hours per week, depending on scheduling needs
  • Customer service experience
  • Cash handling experience
  • A flexible work schedule

*Must be available for all home UofA Football games and designated blackout dates*

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

•Leadership skills

•Ability to communicate with staff

•Technology skills – register set up and support, Word, Excel, NetSuite

•Merchandising for different retail locations

•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

•Be able to perform in hectic situations

•Good problem solver

•Proactive in recognizing and addressing potential problems

•Strong attention to details

•Be able to work quickly and calmly with a team

•Available in the afternoons and late nights, weeknights & weekends

•Willing to become golf cart and caravan certified

•Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive matters

This position occasionally requires working outdoors in inclement weather, including temperatures that may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit

FUNCTIONS/TASKS:

  • Set up mobile tents and connect electrical lights
  • Set up and transport tables
  • Properly display all merchandise on tables or space provided at events
  • Use an inventory device (scanner) to accurately scan merchandise into Campus Store POS system
  • Recount merchandise after event and recall transfers from event
  • Communicate effectively with peers and supervisor
  • Transport merchandise to and from UA Campus Store locations
  • Transfer and receive merchandise to/from other departments
  • Help train students on proper procedures of Souvenirs location
  • Communicate any operational needs of any/all locations within the department
  • Assign tasks to associates, including themselves
  • Communicate with customer needs and concerns, and inform supervisor with accurate information
  • Participate in professional development and career advancement opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned
