With continual growth comes opportunity and Sargent has an immediate opening for a Test Engineer I – Programmer.

Purpose & Scope

This is an entry level engineering position that will report to the Test Engineering Supervisor and is responsible for testing and documentation of new products as well as supporting manufacturing. This role will collaborate with sales, design engineering, manufacturing, and the customer to provide a solution to the customers’ testing challenges.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop integrated program plans for development and qualification activities to include defining tasks, resource requirements, test events, test configurations, and hardware planning.
  • Review test data and write test programs in support of new programs to demonstrate compliance to customer specifications.
  • Interact with customers to clarify design intent and technical requirements.
  • Work with customers and suppliers to manage verification of system level and component level qualification programs.
  • Maintain accurate, orderly project records, including design and test data, customer specifications, directives, etc.
  • Provide direction and assistance on development and qualification test programs.
  • Executes projects to schedule and budget baselines and provides accurate project status reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field OR 4 years of applicable experience as follows:
  • Experience troubleshooting setups and data acquisition issues.
  • Experience working on continual improvement projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic MS Office skills.
  • Self-starter who demonstrates a sense of urgency in meeting customer expectations and delivering results.
  • Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with reading hydraulic schematics and implementing hydraulic test setups.
  • Familiarity with metal forming and manufacturing methods & processes.
  • Mechanical aptitude displayed through personal hobbies/projects.
  • LabVIEW experience.
  • Excellent Creo, Solidworks, MatLab skills.
