Desired qualifications:

  • Current MSMIS or MIS PhD student eligible to hold a TA position.
  • Must be available to attend class sessions in person T/Th 9:30-10:45am and 3:30-4:45pm
  • Understanding and work-related experience with course topics (IS infrastructure, e-commerce, databases, business intelligence, enterprise IS, development and acquisition of IS, MIS security)
  • Expertise with course software (advanced MS Excel, MS Access, WordPress, Tableau, Python, and PowerBI)
  • Experience with D2L course administration preferred
  • Proactiveness, honesty, responsibility, and reliability

Responsibilities:

  • (As-needed) Grade 7 individual assignments and 6 in-class group activities. Grade all assignments within 1 week of the due date.
  • (As received) Respond to student email inquiries about the class and policies within one business day. If you are unable to assist, please forward the email to Dr. Weber and CC the student. Note that you are not expected to help students on their assignments via email.
  • (4-times) Proctor in-class exams
  • (Weekly) Attend class T/Th 9:30-10:45am and 3:30-4:45pm to assist with attendance, logistics, proctoring, and in-class activities.
  • (Weekly) Hold office hours in the MIS 304 open lab
  • (Weekly) Administer the tech-free zone policy and forms
  • (As needed) Other assignments may be given throughout the course of the semester
  • (One-time) Be available for the entire day of our case competition to serve as a room moderator
