SBS 311 – Design Your Life
Are you wondering (and worrying) about what you should do with your life, and by extension, your career?
If you could take a 1-credit class to get answers to that question and more, would you do it? Then this is the course you should take: Design Your Life (DYL).
In 7 short weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to design a fulfilling life and career, specific to you.
- Uncover career paths that interest you and develop strategies to explore those interests.
- Determine what you want in life and in your career, and how to get it.
- What fizzles? What rings true? What inspires your passions?

Networking, career research and creating a plan were the three most useful [assignments]. All three of these lessons presented me with information about an aspect of professional life that I had no idea about.
SBS 411 – Design Your Search
Design a personal plan for searching for a job or internship. You'll gain knowledge about timelines, resources, and expectations of a successful search and reflect on how your personal skills have value in your desired career path. You should take this course when you are in an active search for a job or internship or plan to start searching soon.

This was a great one credit course. The assignments were perfect practice for job searching and preparation. It was great for someone like me, who studied science where I did not get much of an introduction to this type of information.
