Job description

*PAID* 40 hour training in alignment with ABAT (Applied Behavior Analysis Technician)/RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) Board Requirements.

*PAID* CPR certification provided by trained instructors so you can feel prepared for every situation while in the field.

*FREE* CEU’s are provided for all ABSI employees to ensure certifications remain in good standing and all team members are up to date with research and information within the field of ABA.

After successful completion of the 40 hour PAID training, candidates will receive a certificate of completion from The Behavior University (TBU). The training provided fulfills the ABAT/RBT training requirements and will allow you to apply, sit for, and obtain your ABAT/RBT certification. ABSI pays for costs associated with certification exams for team members during their first attempt.

In addition, candidates will continue to meet the requirements of an ABAT/RBT with supervision from professionally trained and certified QASP-S and BCBA’s. Team members will also have the opportunity to overlap in real time in the field with experienced technicians!

Job Description

Behavior Technicians are responsible for data collection and the direct implementation of treatment and behavior plans unique to the individuals they serve. Individuals who become part of the ABSI team will be trained by ABSI’s finest Behavior Analysts and Behavior Specialists. All team members will be trained in the basics of Applied Behavior Analysis, specifically Discrete Trial Training, Natural Environment Training and Positive Reinforcement. Training also includes information on how to implement other teaching methodologies that have proven to be helpful with children with Autism including but not limited to Pivotal Response Training (PRT) and Positive Behavior Supports (PBS).

IMPORTANT:

Must own a vehicle, must not share a car and has a vehicle in good working condition.

Job Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma Required

2. Valid Drivers’ license and car insurance (driving is required)

3. Must have reliable transportation including but not limited to: a vehicle in working condition, your own vehicle, a vehicle that is not shared with others and does not require you to be dependent on someone else’s schedule in order to operate said vehicle.

4. Must be computer literate, dependable, organized, very detail-oriented, and have flexible availability.

5. Drive a minimum of 30-45 miles/minutes from your location

6. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with all levels of the team, the general public and the individuals we support.

7. Ability to work in the home, community, school and clinical settings

8. Ability to walk, stand, stoop and push a wheelchair and be out in a variety of weather

9. Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively

10. Must have good leadership skills

11. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field experience a plus!

We train and certify ALL team members to become an Applied Behavior Analysis Technician (ABAT), or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Professional Development Opportunities to become a Qualified Autism Services Practitioner and Supervisor (QASP and QASP-S), Case Manager, Behavior Specialist, Board Certified Behavior Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
