Early Learning Program serves children across the state who are deaf/hard of hearing (D/HH), blind/visually impaired (BVI), and deafblind. We are seeking teachers with expertise in providing data-driven services and supports in DHH, BVI, early childhood, and/or multiple disabilities. The program offers offers family-centered, home- and community-based services in urban and rural areas across the state for families with children who are DHH, BVI, and deafblind. Teachers work in cooperation with the Arizona Early Intervention Program in designing and implementing services to families. As part of the early intervention team, teachers
prepare for and conduct home visits;
coordinate and conduct relevant assessments;
work with families in understanding sensory impairment;
provide families and teams with strategies and activities to support child development and IFSP outcomes; and
monitor progress.
BA Degree in Special Education Must be willing to get certified as a deaf instructor. This can be done through U of A. That is mostly free through Arizona’s Teachers Academy. They can learn sign through Signschool.com to help with their skills. Fluency in ASL a plus; Knowledge of strategies in Listening
and Spoken Language also a plus.
Signing Bonus: $1500 for New Teachers.
