Fast Track: Adobe Creative Cloud
Build Your Creative Literacy with Adobe Creative Cloud
Are you prepared to think and work creatively in the workplace? According to an conducted on behalf of the Association of American Colleges & Universities, only 37 percent of employers believed that recent college graduates were "well-prepared with current technologies." These technologies include those traditionally considered limited to creative fields: graphic design and video editing software. These creative tools, as provided by Adobe, are essential for all professions as all industries become more digital.
We developed the Fast Track: Adobe Creative Cloud workshop to give you the start you need to begin creating career-defining work.
This 4-week, 100% online program starts October 22 and is designed to guide you through your chosen software, its applications, and the iterative and collaborative nature of the design process. NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
You will select ONE of three tracks: Photoshop, Premiere Pro, or InDesign. You will then dive straight into learning about your chosen application with projects and discussions on creative literacy due each week. We have partnered with employers across campus to offer engaging, real-world projects that will focus the works you create in the workshop. Read on for more details!
What is Adobe Creative Cloud?
Adobe Creative Cloud is a software as a service offering from Adobe for graphic design, video editing, web development, photography, and cloud services. The University of Arizona has announced an agreement with Adobe to provide its student body the full suite of Adobe Creative Cloud software, making the institution the company's first West Coast Adobe Creative Campus to earn this recognition for its commitment to creative and digital literacy among its students.
What to Expect
Over the course of the program, you will explore the concept of creative literacy by creating digital media using your chosen software track, exploring techniques individually, and providing feedback on the work of peers.
You should expect to take approximately 25 hours to complete all modules and assignments over a 4-week time period.
You will present your final projects in a pitch to one of our employer partners for feedback. Your final pitch will allow you to demonstrate your knowledge of the application, conveying your intentions, and the design process itself -- additional skills that are key assets when entering the job market or applying to internships.
Upon successfully completing the workshop, you can redeem a micro-dredential issued by the Office of Student Engagement via Cred.ly that can be shared over LinkedIn and other social media platforms.
You will choose ONE of the following Adobe applications to learn in the Fast Track: Adobe Creative Cloud workshop:
Premiere Pro - Video Production and Editing
Photoshop - Image Editing and Compositing
InDesign - Page Design and Layout for Print and Digital Publishing
