Please check back in August 2025 for information about a Fall Semiconductor Manufacturing Fast Track. Registration for the Fall 2025 Session will begin in mid-August and will be on Handshake. 

 

Semiconductor Manufacturing Fast Track is a free, 4 to 6-week co-curricular program that brings students together to learn more about future careers in semiconductor manufacturing. Students will learn more about semiconductor manufacturing during asynchronous learning modules and will then complete a team project that showcases their learning. Final team projects will be presented to industry partners. Students will learn more about this emerging field from experts in this field. Students will also learn more out about upcoming internship or entry-level jobs in this field. Students will have the opportunity to share their completed team project with industry sponsors for feedback and can also share their resume with employers at the end of the program.

Registration in Handshake does not guarantee participation in this Fast Track. Registration is the first step then students need to complete a brief survey. Final confirmation will be sent by email from the instructors after confirming student has the necessary prerequisites to participate.

Handshake registration does not ensure participation until a student’s status is confirmed by email after a brief follow up survey. Students in Engineering, CAST, College of Science and Optical Science and Business students who are interested in this industry are encouraged to apply.

Here is the schedule:

Session 1 Tues., Feb. 25, 4:00-5:30 p.m.-Kickoff Session with Curriculum Review and Project Launch

Session 2 Tues., March 4, 4:00-5:30 p.m.- Employer Panel Discussion

Spring Break-Week of March 10-14-No meeting

Session 3, Tues., March. 18, 4:00-5:30 p.m.-Team meetings for Project

Session 4, Tues., March. 25, 4:00-5:30 p.m.-Team meetings for Project/Office Hours

Session 5, Tues., April 1, 4:00-6:00 p.m.-Final presentations with Industry Partners

Students who successfully complete all portions of the Fast Track will receive a certificate of completion and micro-credential badge.

All sessions are mandatory. Students should not register unless they can attend all sessions. This Fast Track is approximately 20 hours over a 5-week period and includes the interactive meetings, asynchronous time to complete the learning modules and team meetings.
