Job Shadow Program: Host a Wildcat
Provide Insight & Opportunity for Students
The Job Shadow Program (JSP) is going virtual for the summer 2020 session! Student Engagement & Career Development will be facilitating 1-hour, online informational interviews via Zoom or similar technology for students with alumni and industry professionals. This low-stakes, high-value informational interview is an ideal way to offer diverse and dedicated college students a real insight into your work and workplace, while also providing greater exposure for your organization, job function, and industry to career-curious Wildcats of every year and major.
Intentionally designed as an educational and exploratory experience for students, the JSP may be some students’ initial exposure to a specific career and work environment. For most Wildcats, a Job Shadow represents the chance to meaningfully investigate a career area they know little about, while others are simply seeking to deepen their knowledge and build their professional networks in an already-chosen future field.
Any professional, anywhere in the world can apply to be involved in this program. We have a wide variety of students with a huge array of interests and career aspirations, so we are open to all kinds of virtual interviews in all types of industries.
Many of the professionals involved in this program are Arizona alumni, while others are big Arizona fans or just fans of the Job Shadow Program and its possibilities. Interviews will be conducted by Zoom or other similar technology.
Participants should be prepared to talk about the path that led them to where they are today, what their day-to-day is like, and any advice you have for a student interested in potentially pursuing a similar career.
