Major & Career Exploration
Making "Major" Decisions
Deciding on a major and a career is an important decision. By choosing a major that fits with your interests, strengths and values, you are more likely to enjoy the classes you take, feel academically challenged and be motivated to finish your degree.

Play Your Way to Answers in LifeLab
If you're interested in exploring yourself, your interests and how that might relate to major or career, drop into LifeLab and complete one of these activities:
Through a series of yes or no questions, the Career Clusters Card Sort helps you elimate what doesn't spark your interest until you're left with two or three different career areas or clusters to explore. It's fun, interactive, and you'll have a clear place to start your exploration.
In the Personal Inventory activity, take stock of who you are, what you value, your skills and strengths to discover patterns and insights that you can use to find a career fit.
In the Flip the Script activity, you'll practice strategies to make the most of an informational interview, a brief meeting between a person who wants to investigate a career (you!) and a person working in that career. This will help you get answers to questions about a job role, industry or career path.
