This fall, I also completed the Tata Data Visualization Virtual Experience Program on Forage — and it gave me a deeper understanding of how data is used in real-world corporate decision-making.
In this simulation, I stepped into the role of a data intern at Tata Group, one of India’s largest and most respected conglomerates. My task? To turn messy, raw data into compelling visual insights that business leaders could actually use. Through this experience, I:
- Analyzed datasets to uncover key trends and opportunities.
- Built visuals that clearly communicated insights to different stakeholders.
- Learned the importance of clarity, design, and audience focus in data storytelling.
This wasn’t just about tools — it was about thinking like a consultant and building the soft skills needed to present data in ways that drive impact. I came away from the experience with a new appreciation for visualization as both a technical skill and a creative process.
Through this program, I realized how powerful self-paced virtual learning can be. It allowed me to explore a real-world scenario, build practical skills, and boost my confidence in a corporate context — all on my own schedule.
For anyone curious about the intersection of data, business, and storytelling, I highly recommend this program on Forage.
