Spring 2023 Internship Support Offerings

You may have heard this datapoint, but it is worth repeating…students who complete internships are 2X more likely to report employment after graduation!

SECD has many offerings for students this spring to support a student’s internship search – no matter where they are at in the process.

Intro to Internships is a 35-minute info session to help students gain information, break through some myths about internships (e.g. that most are unpaid), hear stories from peers about their internship experiences, and inspire students to take the next step in seeking these impactful opportunities. This workshop is open to all students.

Journey to Internships is a series of workshops and 1:1 support over 4 weeks. In this cohort-based model, participants go through multiple steps of the search process from identifying areas of interest to getting help submitting an application. This is open to all students and a match for students in an internship search.

Kickstart Your internship Search is a 1-hour workshop where students will learn how and where to find internships, how to tailor resumes and cover letters in their applications, and resources to help with an internship search.

**Students can find workshops under “upcoming events” at https://career.arizona.edu/ or by searching for the workshop name under events in Handshake.

Internship Coaching The peer coach team offers 1:1 guidance to help students with any internship-related questions. Whether a student is wanting to learn about or apply for internships, the peer coaches who have been through the process can help. In person and virtual appointments available. Internship Coaching appointments can be booked through Handshake and instructions to book appointments are on the SECD website.

Roadmap to Internships is a guide of 9 key steps that are part of the internship search. The roadmap is filled with steps to help students learn about internships, prepare, and apply to opportunities, and connects students with many resources that will help them in their journey. This is a great resource to post on D2L as it is connected to multiple resources and offerings.

Interested in collaborating to bring these resources to students you support?
